LSI is "latent symantic indexing" and its basically the idea that search results are getting more competitive. From a search engine's standpoint, they want to deliver highly relevant results. To do that, LSI is a strategy to use when creating content on a website. You want to use keywords that are all closely inter-related terms throughout your entire site.

Basically, you want a site that's dense with targeted keywords that all inter-relate to one another and nothing else. You don't want to have a site about dogs and one day, mention how stupid your cat is. Just dogs.
