I'm planning on building a network of web 2.0 sites for backlinking purposes. I will be using Blogger, Wordpress etc. If I create more than one Blogger site should I use different accounts for each blog to avoid creating a footprint?

Yes! I use different accounts. For backlinking purposes, I use 10 Different Blogger accounts, 1 WordPress and 1 Weebly.

There comes a point when for just a second you have to think if it is that easy... when will google find a way to block that? Oh wait they have!

Be careful with what you do, and if you do, try to follow the above linked guide lines.

Based from experience, it's best to always stay on the safe side. It might be a tedious process but it'll have long-term benefits. Always use Unique contents. Some diversify the platforms they use. Some use Class C IPs. Some use IP changers or Proxy servers so as not to leave footprints. Always do what's right and ethical so that your efforts won't be wasted.
