NameResolutionFailure Issue

Hello all,

When I recently checked the backlink profile of one of my webpages in Majestic SEO, the 'last crawl result' shows as NameResolutionFailure. Does anyone know what this means and what this entails for my page's performance? The page is ranking pretty well, but will the page continue to rank?

I think what caused it was me changing the url multiple times after the original creation of the page. Is this practice known to cause such issues?

Thanks,
Ethan

Could be the URL changes. This kind of message says that Majestic wasn't able to get to the site at some point in history due to name services not resolving. You often see these messages for sites that work perfectly well on the moment you're querying Majestic. They could be caching the name service data to speed their spidering operation, which would make it a bit more likely to fail. I'm not certain that it's the case, but I've seen these messages a bit more than I would expect.

It's just an error message in Majestic SEO. It your site works and ranks well, you can safely ignore it. However, I'd monitor any money site with tools like Pingdom or Statuscake to see if they really respond.

    What's your excuse?
