    Hey Fermina!!!!

I have followed Daredevil Marketing by Ryan McKinney and Robert Stukes when it comes to Local SEO.

These guys know what they're doing, and their products always deliver.

Do a search for them in Google you may be able to find some courses they're still selling.

If you're talking about having your link appear in search results for something like "product place", just have the product and place mentioned on the page. Google Places might also help. It doesn't need to be anything fancier than that.

If that very basic stuff fails, maybe guru course will help.

Links in signature will not help your SEO. Not on this site, and not on any other forum.
Who told me this? An ex Google web spam engineer.

    What's your excuse?

I'm not sure if you understood my question. I don't need the "product place" method.

I just wanted to know if there is a course/guide out there for ranking in Local SEO

Nope, it's the other way around. You might not need any guide for this stuff, and you might actually waste your time on non-important gimmicks. Of course it depends on search engine competition and other factors.

Local SEO has changed a lot over the years, just as has regular SEO.
There are many outdated or incomplete local SEO guides.
It used to be Google Places, then they became Google + Local.
David Mihm has been doing a compilation of local SEO rankings factors each year (he now works for Moz).
    Here are his latest results:
Top 20 Local Search Ranking Factors: An Illustrated Guide - Moz
It mentions all the basic things you need to take care of to get good results.
I'd also read Andrew Shortland's and Mike Blumenthal's blogs, they are local SEO experts in the true sense of the word.

Linda Buquet of Catalyst eMarketing offers some great SEO techniques, both on and off-site. Googling her name pulls her up.

And always take a look at Mike Blumenthal (Professor Maps)'s blog!

Local SEO should focus on localized keywords (these are keywords that have the location attached to the main keyword). Of course, it is not bad if you happen to have a list of keywords without the location attached. I suggest a mix of these types of keywords would do.

Also, focus on building and marketing your site to local listing sites. The more local listing you have, the higher the chance you will get ranked.

Then of course, just the same- focus on building quality links with really good content to share. You may do:

*article marketing- like guest posting, article submission
*blog commenting to community-based sites and other high ranking sites
    *forum posting (minus spamming)
*becoming active in social media sites like Facebook and Twitter

I think there no a complete A-Z guide to local SEO. It just hasn't been written yet.

The point is that this sphere is still developing and hasn't been researched well enough. Hence, there are lots of white spots in it.

But there are some useful posts that cast light on some aspects of search engine optimization on a local level. For example:

Local SEO in 2014: Just Use Common Sense

Hope, you will find these tips useful.
