Massive linking but sliding backwards!

I've been doing a lot of backlinking in the last week using Angela's backlinks and others I've discovered on my own.

I've even created original content and new pages on my site for this keyword.

This morning I'm shocked to see that I've gone from middle Page One to Page three for the keyword phrase I'm targetting!

I've heard you can be penalized for too many links too quickly but this can hardly be the case since I'm doing it manually. We're talking dozens, not hundreds over a week.

Could it be due to a lag time before my new links take effect? That's hard to understand too because Google spiders these major sites on a daily or hourly basis.

It's really cruel to put in so much work and find that instead of #1 position you've gone backwards!

I suspect that a a lot of the links you have placed have not been crawled by Google yet. Check the cache of each page to see if you link has been found.

Search engines spiders do vist the domains you speak of very regularly, but if you are creating new profile pages with links in them, it will be a while before they are found because there are very links pointing to them.

To speed up the process it may be worth social bookmarking the page with the link on it.

      Hi,

I've seen the same thing with the package. Moving to a good position fast, and then drop somewhat down the rankings afterwards.
Can it be because the links are partly from comments on pages that are removed from the front page of the sites?

      Regards,
      Thomas

I am not certain what Angela's link system is, but let's suppose it's a linking system that aims at the market in general. Now, if, 200 people sign up for that linking programme and she begins to link those sites, then Google will suddenly see 200 sites all with the basic link format. The bot's will say 'blackhat - possibly and down rate sites using the system.

What you actually do to get the links indexed?

      thanks

With Angelas backlinks I'm seen a huge jump in my rankings. What I do though is write some relevant working around my backlinks. This I believe adds weight to your links and gives the search engines something else to use in order to evaluate your links.

I also then ensure that these links get indexed. I do this myself. Otherwise you may have links that never get found for weeks or even months... if at all!

I also just do a handful per day. Maybe 3 - 4 and then get them indexed.

This is what IS working for me AND it hasn't taken me long at all.

All good things come to those who wait.

Yeah, Andy. Let us know what you do to get these links indexed. Like you, I also try to add relevant content with my link. If it's a profile I'll write a short little bio that's relevant to the anchor text.

If the site offers a blog I'll do a relevant post, not just leave bare anchor text and a link.

I should also point out that my site is mature, three years old, and I've often been on page one for the keyword phrase I'm targetting.

For all these reasons I find my backsliding very strange. Hopefully, it will come back up. Sometimes things get shifted around in the SERPs but then they come back to normal.

      Ping o matic

google reader | subscribe to the sites feed | create a shared feed and folder | mash all your backlink sites rss feeds into one shared folder via google reader - then aggregate that shared outgoing feed and ping it with ping o matic.

I ping the page where I just added a link using Pingoat or Pingomatic. That seems to ensure the links are picked up almost instantly.

To add weight to them, I also use a social bookmarking service to bookmark them. I use the free OnlyWire, but any similar service would work as well.

      Huh? C'Mon.

The bot's will say 'blackhat - possibly and down rate sites using the system.

Youd have to be putting 1,000's of new links per day to red flag with google. There are sites that get 100's and thousands of backlinks per day
