How Long Does It Take To Rank A Wikipedia Page

There's this new product I'd like to create a Wikipedia page for - citing myself as a source obviously. :-P

I noticed that when I updated a page earlier today it updated instantly in SERPs. I'd like to know how long it takes for a brand new page to rank in the standard #1 spot.

The easy answer is to "test and see what happens" - however, if I make the page now, and it populates in SERP's tomorrow for example - that is bad news for me. In short, I need to time the creation of this entry for when I can adequately handle the new traffic.

What do you guys think!?

I'd suspect that the Wikipedia page gets nuked almost instantly. It can be a tough battle to get them to stick even when the page is legit. The notability requirements are fairly strict, and you're more or less saying that it's just a thinly veiled spam using weak sources.

Why do you think that people would flock to the source article or any link in Wikipedia? If you're doing an adequate job, there's no need to study further.

Links in signature will not help your SEO. Not on this site, and not on any other forum.
Who told me this? An ex Google web spam engineer.

    What's your excuse?

Clearly you are more versed in this than I am. You remember when you knew as much about SEO as you did nuclear fission?

My point was that there are a ton of different factors involved, such as the level of competition for the keyword.

Nobody is going to be able to give you an answer to this.

The page might rank in a few hours. It might never rank.

This was actually quite helpful. A lot of the other posts were too. Tons of authority content out there for me to create this page and "sprinkle" a pinch of my own citations in there.

Nothing to do but create it and market it to other bloggers interested in the niche.

The first and biggest obstacle would be actually getting the page to stick.

If your page is the authority on the product. Why are you trying to rank someone elses "wikis" pages for the same product?

Would you mind ranking my pages too while you're doing charity work?

Never said they were same product? Nonetheless, I try to avoid abject misuse of my time as that is a trait endemic to those who are without means.
