Ranking YouTube Videos?

Hi,

I recently started doing YouTube SEO. I've been ranking so far but traffic and views have been a bit slow. I have a few videos on page 1 but it's usually at the bottom of the page. My question is, what can I do to push up my rankings? I'm aware that views, likes and comments can help increase my rankings. Anything else I should be aware of?

In most cases either your thread will get removed or your account banned... I am not sure how we should do it, but if you just post a video for example with a few SEO tips inside, I am not sure if people reported it, but in most cases such threads got deleted quick and all the link juice you got from this backlink will disappear with the thread itself!

The best (and the safest) way to rank your videos is by using the opportunities YouTube itself gives you. And I am not talking only for the ones you already mentioned. Just read some in-depth articles and ebooks about YouTube SEO and you will find out what I am talking about.

post your video right in the appropriate forum with the content of your video, if you have a website you can also put it in there. Create an FP to upload your video there targeting specific people.

You should use keywords in title, description and tags - but that's fairly obvious, and you're probably already doing that. Google also tracks the viewing time of videos, and it's a ranking factor as far as I know. What they love, however, is the user interaction and activity (because that's what makes them money). You should try to take the total engagement up if you can.

Links in signature will not help your SEO. Not on this site, and not on any other forum.

Currenly banking hard off YouTube. I've got a method to rank any video to #1 position in no time, lol. But to rank legit do this:
Add at least 4000 views to the video.
    100 likes (AddmeFast)
    5-12 comments.
    Favorites (enhanceviews)

Leave the video for a few days (2-3).
    Then start building links:
Go to Fiverr and look for gigs that offer Wiki links, I used them and ranked well my vids on google as well.

Keep in mind that it's possible to make links by yourself - that's even better. If you've got time research what Web 2.0 is and build them for your video

Hope I helped & have a nice day!

      This is solid advice.

I bought 10,000 views /250 likes from a reputable company and it worked -- good view retention, now the video dominates my keywords, it is in the definitive video on the subject now, or is becoming it, close to ranking at the top.

But you can't buy too much -- good to use fivrr and free services like addme and enchanceviews.

I've ranked over 500+ videos on page 1 of *Google* over the last couple of years. My technique has evolved rather significantly and I've had to pay a developer $150 just to make me an app that does all my keyword research. Its a fairly elaborate process but the app basically scrapes hundreds of thousands of keywords, gets all the search estimates, filters out all the keywords under 3,000 SM, then filters in all the keywords that have videos in the top 5.

It does a ton of other stuff but it basically automates 100% of all my keyword research.

Once I narrow down a list of a few hundred keywords I can search them all in ahrefs and analyze competition.

Then to rank the videos this is all I do -

    1) Drip feed high retention views.
    2) Drip feed likes, subs, comments, ratings.
    3) Every video gets a 1000+ word, keyword rich description.
    4) I use other little techniques for on page SEO that would take too long to explain.
    5) I plug the videos into GSA which I have on a VPS along with scrapebox. I do 1 tier for low competition videos and 3 tiers for high competition videos. I'm able to pump out around 100k-125k links a day.
    6) All the links get sent to indexification.

Thats basically it. I just spam the videos till they rank on page 1 and overtake their competition. In certain cases I'll buy high pr web2.0 links if my video needs the links juice.

As far as fiver goes..... you can use fiver but there is no way you can scale things up the way you need unless you get some tools to drop your SEO costs. For the amount of links I do everyday I've have to spend $100-$200 / day in fiver gigs just to get a similar amount of links. And the quality of most the links would be shit.

If you're trying to rank 1 video, fiver is fine. But if you plan on making a real income from ranking YT videos you need your own tools + a vps.

      This.

I stay out of the super-competitive niches though because I'm admittedly a little impatient. I have noticed recently though that blasting the crap out of a video is getting less effective if there's somewhat decent competition. So I'm going to do a tiered structure on my next 5 and see how it goes.

Yep. I use to go after competitive niches but these days I always aim for untapped low comp keywords. Just cause its quicker to rank and quicker to see profits. Then theres the fact that YT has been raping retention view suppliers for the last several months.

I do have 3 videos in a highly competitive niche, and consider this in regards to money & time -

I spent $800 in SEO on all 3 of those videos (combined).

On top of that I have been building links to those 3 videos in GSA for 7-8 months now. Each video has 3 tiers.

I did that because they turned out to be profitable keywords and I don't want ANYONE outranking those videos.

If a competitor wanted to outrank just *1* of those videos, they'd probably have to spend $500 MINIMUM in SEO. Then they'd have to wait 3 months, and chances are they still wouldn't rank.

I do LOVE competitive niches, because once you strike oil it flows like a broken damn. But I don't like making large investments up front, I hate the waiting game, and it makes it harder to diversify.

Low competition niches are more of a wild card. Some videos rank fast as hell. Some take too long to rank (anything over 2 months drives me insane). Some convert like wildfire, others convert like shit. But long term, imo, its still a much safer strategy. I like having little baby eggs spread everywhere as opposed to a few huge eggs. Cause when those big eggs crack, its gonna be painful. But when you lose a few baby eggs, out of hundreds, you won't lose a minute of sleep over it.

You definitely have more stones than I do. I've had YT videos get removed out of nowhere, so spending that kind of money to rank them is a little daunting.

Then again, if you are able to rank in a high traffic / profitable niche it's going to easily be worth the risk. So I can see why you'd be willing to do it.

Are you trying to rank your videos for Google or for YouTube results?

    1. If you reach page 1 of Google, then keep on building backlinks to get top3

    2. If you reach page 1 of YouTube, then keep on blasting it with views, likes, comments, and social signals.

I can't really add more than what has already been said, but something that I like to do is optimize the closed caption as well. It is crawled, and I have seen some of my vids jump in Google rankings from simply optimizing the closed caption for the keyword I am looking to rank for.

Maybe you can create some new videos that talk about the same subject and work with different keywords.

Adding new videos too will only help you get some of your videos ranked high. This will only get you more views and more clicks on your links.

I'm still doing good but the response time isn't nearly as fast as it was two months ago. I've also had to switch up the mix of backlinks, 100% spam isn't working as well as it used to.

Try throwing in 3-10 embeds from high PR/PA/DA relevant sites. Should give you some extra push.

It took me about 3 weeks to rank #1 for my keywords on Youtube. Basically make sure you put your keyword first in the title, first in your description and put it in your tags. Post the vid to all of your social sites and your main site. You can push Backlinks to your video link as well.

Yes. However, it's an interesting question wether it's likely to happen or not. If the provider is being careful with the delivery those views and likes may seem fairly normal. 250 views is nothing out of ordinary as long as the viewers stay and watch the video for a while.

Artificial boosting of YouTube stats has been around for years, and I'm pretty sure Google is trying to kill it. The latest was the apparent move to cut the effect of spam links which is discussed in the thread that was linked above.

"50 real channel subscribers" is a BS claim of course. It'd take solid content and/or a good campaign to get people who are interested in your videos.

It used to be a lot easier to rank a youtube video, now it should have proper title, description and tags, then backlink it manually to a few sites that are related. It's easier the lower the competition your keywords have.

No matter what else you do the key that starts the search engine is the right keywords.

All of the rest come after you kick start the video.

Make sure that your keywords have commercial intent too.

My question is, what can I do to push up my rankings? I'm aware that views, likes and comments can help increase my rankings. Anything else I should be aware of?

I already ranked one of my videos in google first page in 10 days. Build some profile on social media sites and link back to youtube videos, blog comment and link to vidoes. I mean build some links from different sources.

    Hi,
The formula I found that works on ranking YouTube videos looks like this:

    Google Engine Ranking

    • Send 1000's of PR>1 anchor text backlinks
    • Use a decent amount of branded, URL, target keyword, related keywords, misc
    • Send them from article directories, web 2.0s, and comments
    • Throw in 1-10 embeds from high PR sites (PR3+) with great PA/DA
    YouTube Engine Ranking

    • Subscribes: variable
    • All dripped in over the course of a month.
    • Submit the video to some high PR social bookmarking site
    • This is also necessary for Google Engine ranking
These days it takes about 3-5 weeks to get to #1. Wasn't like that 4 months ago unfortunately.

It's not been two weeks yet since the supposed Google/YouTube link spam change. There's no way you could have tested it extensively. In my opinion you can't really say what'll rank a video today.
      Signature
Links in signature will not help your SEO. Not on this site, and not on any other forum.
Who told me this? An ex Google web spam engineer.

      What's your excuse?

You can do video submission and forum posting to increase video ranking.
