Outrank Microsoft Forum?

Hi guys,

I read a great thread somewhere about taking advantage of the error code niche and offering solutions as micro niche sites. Problem is that microsoft forum support are always at number 1.

I just wanted to know how possible it is to outrank microsoft answers and support forums? These are always low competition keyword with high search, but it's always these microsoft sites at the top that have millions of backlinks.

I know I'm not competing against the root domain and just the specific page, but how possible is it with all the right seo practises?

    If you're a small, unknown site it's probably difficult. If you're serious about the niche you could always try to explain things better than those techy forum posts, maybe read up on all the solutions and summarize them in a way that's easy to understand and follow. At least that way you'll have a unique offering with real value, won't help much with short term ranking however... Keep in mind though that you don't have to rank #1 to get traffic, sometimes anywhere on the first page is good enough.
