Do I need Wordpress for a roofing website?

I am getting into the roofing business and am creating a website for it. I have created a few other websites so have a fairly good idea on how to do it and would rather do my own design than follow a Wordpress template.

However, I was wondering if I need a Wordpress theme to boost seo. That would be the only reason I would want to use Wordpress.

Also, while there will be plenty of content, it won't be a blog and other than some testimonials, there won't be any "give and take"

It seemed several years back that Wordpress with plugins could really accelerate ranking but I get the feeling from this forum that is no longer the case.

Any ideas?
Thanks
Rick

Hey Rick, you should check this out: http://www.warriorforum.com/warrior-...plan-here.html

No affiliation, just saw it and your post and thought the two might fit.

Wordpress really has no SEO value over a site coded in just HTML.

I'd blast that site with every city, town, municipality, metropolis, megalopolis, zip code... within a 100 mile radius.

You can never have too many pages targeting same/similar keywords. Especially a roofing business, all they do is travel to job sites (different towns).

    Thanks everyone for the help.
Yea, Yukon that is exactly what I want to do. It will take a few months
but hopefully, I can climb the hill.

You don't need WordPress, but it's a good CMS for small to mid sized websites. As others have said, no real SEO benefits come from the CMS. WordPress has got some nice SEO plugins, but those basically just make editing a bit easier. It's mostly about very basic stuff like titles, meta descriptions, and XML sitemaps.

Wordpress itself doesn't offer any bonuses however you do have options such as search engine friendly urls which can improve search ranking and also SEO pluging which can help.

I am currently using Yoast which wasn't always my first choice but will be from now on

To be fair to other CMS that's something you can find from systems that are even half decent. In fact if it was not available there'd be something seriously wrong with the CMS in question.

I had the same idea as Yukon's. You can target a lot of keywords for different localities easier using CMS such as Wordpress.
