URL Layout Advice, Opinions

OK guys so I am getting to the point where I will be onto the final testing run before starting promotion/seo work on my site.

Of course in this final testing phase I looked at my URL's and before jumping in feet first I would like to check with my webmaster peers their opinions on this subject.

Examples

electronics.com/Desktop PC-s-and-laptops/cyberpower-xts2677-desktop-pc

electronics.com/cyberpower-xts2677-desktop-pc

Now in the past I used to go for the first url format but never knew if this had any impact etc. My site currently has in use the second layout example and I am taking a guess that the second is the preferred but hey guys and girls please let me know what you think before I open up for business and start linkbuilding.

    Hello Jordan,

    Both the format is great, but i suggested 1st one is perfect, because you categories your products, its helps the user and search engine too. So, i prefer go with example 1. Let see others suggestion..

    I have a little time to decide and of course when you click on a category it lists electronics.com/category-name

    The reason I originally felt the need to ask is because say for example I had

    electronics.com/desktops/cyberpower-desktop-pc-review

    It got me thinking that having desktops in the URL twice could look bad in the eyes of Google. The more I think about this the more I feel my original thoughts were incorrect and would like to hear what URL layouts you guys use on your sites.
