How many backlinks should I be aiming for?

Thanks.

If they are good links, as many as you can get.

    If not, zero.

Set a GOAL. When you are building quality (hate that word) links, then set a realistic goal. Let's say: 3 links per day. But more the merrier.

You can get as many links but it should look natural. Also keep in mind link velocity. Keep this ratio good enough. Assume this month you got 100 links, next month you got 500 links and again next month you got only 50 links. So avoid these methods.

Link velocity is a total myth. Spikes in links are much more 'natural' than getting a consistent number of links each day, week, or month.

What Mike said.. although, a sudden spike of 100,000 links a day from a gsa or scrapebox run probably wouldn't be the best

And neither would 2000 a day for 50 days.
