Hello warriors,

Do anyone know of a auto directory submitter? A software package that automatically submits to a number of directories? If so, did it help your website in any way?

Thanks

Forget it. The links are worthless and would go against your site. Google would see a bunch of low PR directory links to your home page, discount them, and probably actually down rate your site or flag it.

Like I said in another thread - look for a few PR 5+, 7+ are best, and deep link them with anchor text matching on page keywords.

What a great idea. I'll go out and get all of my competitors as many directory links as I possibly can so that they'll get penalized by Google.

I know that most of the directories are useless, but some of them will eventually help. I agree don't submit a new domain to hundreds of directories but I don't see the problem not to submit a site with pr3+ that already established trust with google

directory submitter from imwishlist.com isn't bad, but don't submit your site more than once to the directories. that's when you'll get slapped by Google as explained by apc01.

    Incansoft DirectoryBot.

You can read about it at
DirectoryBot | Quickly and Easily Submit your Domains to over 500 online web directories with the click of a button

Use coupon code CPAMARKETERS to get it for $7.77, but do it quick. I don't know how long Mike is going to leave that code active.

There is no "automatic".. using these software is more painful because you need to select the categories and enter captchas... no software that can enter a captcha... forget directory submission... it's useless nowadays..

I used Directory Bot to submit to about 200 directories. Lets hope it doesn't affect my site negatively. But I don't think it would, otherwise the competition would be all out war on each other if it were possible to destroy a site within 10 minutes using software like Directory Bot.

Directory submission is good as long as you are submtting to directories that havea category suited to your site.

        Which most of them do.

Because of the varying lengths of time it takes the different sites to approve your listings, your links will appear with a natural appearing spread over time. I don't even mess with trying to stagger the submissions.

          That makes sense, thanks.

If I may ask, from your experience, does submitting to directories help your site's ranking, if even by a small amount?

Awesome, do you think it's a good idea to add a brand new domain to directories or should your domain first build some trust, get a page rank of 2 or 3 and then do the directory building?

This is a very good topic that help one to know the diffrent between manual submition and auto submition. But base on the debate above I want to believe that manual submition is better than auto. But why are marketers developing those software if it's not going to give the said advantages?

Auto submitting or manual submitting is exactly the same in the eyes of SEO. The problem is that many good directories can't be submitted to by software

I agree that auto submissions can hurt your google rankings and google don't like such things at all. Also people willing to use the method for their competitors, they can use the same for you as well lol so better be careful and don't think bad about someone and you never know which bad step is actually good at times so it can benefit them as well
    Thanks

Directory links are still some of the easiest and best backlinks to get. The problem for most people is that the best directories cost money.

Iv always said it cost money to make money, so if you want vary fast rankings and are willing to put a lazy $1,000 into your directory submissions, youl be on your way to ranking well in any niche.

Google love paid directories because they are human edited which usually ensures that no spammy sites are listed. Spammers also dont usually fork out money on their worthless spammy sites.
There has been alot of talk around lately that all directory listings are worthless for SEO now, which is pure crap.

Yes, its true that Google has dropped alot of value from the majority of directory backlinks, but this is great for every white hat SEO. Obviously Google is smart enough to realise that free listing directories are filled with thousands of spammy sites, so its just common sense to devalue those backlinks.

Its great news for the white hat webmaster that is trying to build a website that they are willing to spend money and time on. 10 backlinks from the 10 best directories on the net are valued a lot higher than 3,000 backlinks from low PR, spammy directories.

Here are 10 of the best directories to be listed in.

    Yahoo Directory($299 per year)

dir.yahoo.com - Definitely the most trusted site directory on the internet due to its high cost and no refunds for declined website listings. Make sure your website is all up to par before you submit to this directory. They can and do decline listings with no refund.

Best of the Web (69.95 per year or $199.95 for lifetime)

botw.org has been around since 1994, very highly trusted by Google. If your serious about you website, obviously the lifetime membership is much better value.

    Business.com ($199 first year, $149 following years.)

Highest price ever paid for a domain name, 7.5 million for business.com in 1999. Beer.com comes in second at 7 Million. No wonder it cost $200 a year.

    Dmoz.org (free)

The largest site directory online and the most trusted free directory. This is due to the super high standards the editors look for in a site. Goodluck getting listed on this directory, hardly any editors actually keep up with their listings so now Dmoz has a massive backlog of submissions to process. If your listed after 6 months, consider yourself lucky.

    JoeAnt.com ($39.99 for review fee)

    GoGuides.org ($70)

    Gimpsy.com ($40)

    Starting Point ($99 per year)

    V7N Directory ($49.00)

Destroy your competition with those backlinks.

    Goodluck

    HI

If you can post your competitors links on any site for free or paid then google will not penalize you for it... other wise what would stop your competitors destroying your serp rankings.
