Hi all, i've been reading about tiered link building, and i'm now trying to test it.
Below i'm going to explain the method i'm using, hope to read critics about it.

Layer 1 - Money Site
Layer 2 - Blog post with contextual link pointing to Layer 1
Layer 3 - Blog post with spunned article with the same subject of blog on layer 2 with contextual link pointing to layer 2
Layer 4 - GSA spam with auto generated content. Basically on this layer i'm trying to build links of various sources - Web 2.0, Wikis, etc

All the backlinks between layers are do follow.

I have plenty of doubts:
- Do tiered link building works?
- If so, am i doing it right?
- Should i eliminate Layer 2?

Hope to hear from you

    Tiered Link building works yes.
Doesnt always have to be blog posts for your first tiers, mix it up a little.

And there is more to it, like social signals, pictures etc. Do a youtbe search for the tutorial by Matt Woodward as that shows you how to make one with GSA which you seem to have.

Yes it works, doing 4 layers is safer yes, but you can vary and have many kinds of layers. Include social signals like FB/TW/G+ and bookmarks as well. And relevant blog comment to layer 1 or layer 2.

I'm a little confused about a tiered link building strategy.

When you create your tier layers does your links point back to main page:

www.mydomain.com OR to the relevant article www.domain.com/article/my-article

If it goes to the article then you basically create a tier structure with every single keyword/article on your website. is this correct?

In all the tutorials they mention point it to the money site, but just unclear to exactly where on the site you point to.

Tiered linking still works, but be careful. Google has already started cracking down on sites that are using this to manipulate rankings. The way I see SEO now is it has to look as if it happened all by itself and you didn't have to "do" SEO.
