Help On Some site Doing Neg SEO

That site is a pile of dung Godaddy auction reject. Compare the live site to wayback.

Send that URL over to Matt Cutts & ask him how you can get that site to rank better (like it's your site, lol). Wait & see If it gets deindexed.

That site doesn't rank. it is a zero on all BL explorer tools but the f'ers keep making up new crap content. I am just trying to clean up a site. I follow Neil already and I'm going the path of making the site useful and being ultra social to see if that works. I prefer email, subscribers, and social than putting my eggs 100% in organic search.

Most social media networks could give a rats ass about search so I am going about it that way a little bit too since these are about something people talk about.

Just disavow that link, have you asked them to remove the link, it may not hurt.

Worst case report the site to the hosting company, I have done that in the past to get a link removed. It was on a shared hosting account (i am guessing) and the hosting company shut it down because it was wasting unnecessary resources harvesting and scraping content.

To be honest I don't think theres a thing you can do about it.

I've been running a NSEO campaign for 6 weeks now and I will keep that campaign running for 6 years if I need to. I've also seen a ton of stories about people being victims to NSEO. And it seems less than 1% of the time they are able to recover their sites.

Because it really comes down to the persistence of the person doing the work. And how much time / money they're willing to spend to destroy you.

I told myself over and over "I would never do NSEO" but that can change over time.

And I do believe there are valid cases where NSEO serves an important cause. Like when you have a competitor who's been locked up 3 times for fraud, who's been on tv twice for ripping people off, when you have to speak to his former customers at least twice a month, hear their stories about how they got defrauded for $XX,XXX, and this basically goes on and on year after year and the perpetrator never stops... what are you suppose to do?

So there are people who make themselves targets for NSEO. I just want to make that clear. Unfortunately it seems that the majority of the time its done to innocent folks like yourself.

And I'm not sure what you can really do. If a person wants to send a few hundred thousand spam links to your site over the course of months or even years, if they are willing to spend a lot of money to destroy you, if they have made up their minds and aren't just doing it as an experiment, chances are there's not a thing you can do about it. Unless you plan on disavowing thousands of links every day.... I just don't see what can be done. For as long as sites can be ranked, they can be deranked.

The best advice I can give is have lots of sites. Lots of buffers. Multiple different ways of getting traffic. Other than that, I don't see any other plan of recourse.
