SEO vs. Adwords

My SEO guys are saying everybody is going to Adwords because SEO just isn't working anymore. I think that's a cop out. Any thoughts?

    SEO is still working. But the way how to do it is different. If you can afford, you do both. Include also SM for better results.

    maybe they just dont want to do all the seo work. a lot of seo guys are about ranking with minimal effort. this mindset should gradually lead them to adwords which is no effort or "easier."

    There's scenarios that are not good fit for SEO. And if you're in hurry to get a new site in the search results Adwords makes sense.

    However, if your agency can't explain the reason why SEO wont work for you it's time to switch to another agency.

    They're correct, no pages rank #1 in Google SERPs.

    SEO is dead.

      Why is it then that when I do a search for anything there is always a number one?

      It is harder to rank now, but not impossible.

    If you have money , adwords is the best choice , but if you don't then SEO is the number 1 choice you have. And believe me SEO always work.

      I do agree with you, they need to change the strategy of SEO and follow the guidelines of search engine's webmaster.

    Google has changed their way of displaying results to favor quality over quantity. SEO is not dead, is just has become part of how you build a website.

    Adwords is a great way to drive traffic to a site, if you don't want to wait. Because doing SEO takes time, aprox 6 months to build a quality site that will rank #1.

    And I am not saying because you have a 10% density you are a quality site.

    well, i would like to say SEO is still working, just the problem is that it has become very slow, now it takes a lot more time for the backlinks to index then before, which results into a slow increase in website rankings after SEO. however if you are thinking of generating instant traffic to your website adwords is the best option.

    I refuse to believe that SEO is dead. The difference is, like mentioned above me a few times, it takes more times in ranking well. On-site, citations and backlinks, and places optimization is all a part of the now bigger SEO picture.

    There's more to it and people seem to still look at the old techniques to have themselves rank, which won't help. Things change everyday in this world, you better believe the same goes for SEO!
