Will I be able to make money?

Hello,

I've decided to start a site (niche-based) around a keyword that gets searched for around 1600 times/month. Is it worth pursuing or will there not be enough traffic to my site to make money if I ranked for the keyword?

    Depends on the keyword. Some keywords are more monetizable than others.

    For example, lets say your niche is Yoga.

    Monetizable keyword: "best yoga dvd". Someone is clearly ready to buy and is looking for the best product available.

    Non-monetizable keyword: "yoga poses for beginners". The internet is chock full of free information like this. They're just looking for an online guide.

      I am smart enough to tell that it is in fact a niche that I can monetize. Just wasn't sure about the search volume issue. Thank you.

    wholmes, making money through a website or a blog is not so easy as was earlier. There are number of things decide it like your knowledge, interest, hard work, current competition etc.

    It's worth pursuing if that keyword is:

    *relevant to your site
    *targets your market
    *a medium or low competition keyword
    *probably a buyer-intent or product keyword
