SEO question

Hi All,

My website partner and myself have built a business directory to list various businesses in our area (and then to expand geographically later).

We have done great on site structuring but I would love any feedback on the beat approach to really get our site full of quality links.

I have have looked into the SEO guys here on the forum, but im not sure if a business directory would work the same way as a normal content rich website. At least at the beginning stages where we may not have many businesses listed.

Any and all advice welcome

    Add high quality content to your site. Not sure exactly how that would work on a business directory, but you could add a 'blog' section if you wanted. Target keywords with your content (but do it naturally, no keyword stuffing).

    If you can get people to share your content, that will get you some good links as well as good traffic.

    A blog section is a great suggestion as you can update regularly and encourage commenting. Next is content syndication - easy. Start with a solid article from your site or write a new one. Convert to PDF, can be done via Print Friendly & PDF

    Then upload that to Slideshare, a super authority site that gets very specific searches. And from within Slideshare, you can link that out to LinkedIn and Facebook. Maximum use out of one article.
