PLEASE HELP! YouTube SEO

Hey Everyone,

I just started my first attempt at YouTube SEO. Trying to move a video up in the rankings on YouTube. Here is a link to one of my videos. http://youtu.be/QVTrBaeQ1_g

It would be great if any experts out there could take a look and see if my title and description are up to standards for YouTube. I have 2 other videos on the same subject and I would like this one to move to #1 and have the other 2 follow if possible. I have made an attempt at writing a long descriptive keyword rich description and utilizing the title.

If you have any suggestions please let me know. This video that I am trying to out rank only has 5k views and ahrefs only shows 1 link to the video. Mine is to new for ahrefs but has 2 embeds with links for sure.

I read in another post that view count really doesn't matter. So should I focus on getting more links pointing to this video or re-write the title and description? Where would be efforts be the best utilized?

Thanks in Advance!

Oh, forgot to mention. the videos out ranking mine have crap for descriptions and views considering what is possible on YouTube but most of them are much older, 1 yr +. Does age have anything to do with it?

Its hard to say if your title and description is good from SEO perspective because you didn't give is your KW, but from the point of a customer I think its really good and informative.

For rankings just create backlinks and IMO views and video likes count. When I make a video I always drip views and likes for about a week and drip social sharing and social bookmarking links.

My train of though here is - when get backlinks from social bookmarking sites, more people see it so I get more views for the video.

This probably won't rank your number 1 for the keyword but it's a good start.

    Hope that help

No, age doesn't matter. I've outranked tons of videos and it never matters how old they are.

What matters most is backlinks. Your on page SEO is perfect. And long descriptions help videos rank faster so good job on that. But videos don't rank as fast as they use to. Most low competition keywords I target take 4 weeks to rank #1 on Google. They will rank quicker on YT (if you do retention views) but it generally takes 4 weeks to show up on Google.

So do NOT expect immediate results. And don't wait around either doing nothing. If I were you I'd send some retention views to the video. Go on fiver and go order a gig. If you sort by rating theres a guy doing 5k views. But there's also another guy who does 5 times as many RVs and he drip feeds them. But I'm not mentioning his name because I use him too much for my own videos.

I'd order the views, then I'd buy 1 preloaded enhance views account with 500k credits also on fiver. Use that too boost your likes and comments.

Finally, order a few thousand do follow backlinks. Then make sure they get indexed.

I know your competitor only has 1 link but if you get some wiki links you'll be guaranteed to rank. Even in niches where my competitors are very weak I still do a few thousand links with GSA. Some people call that "overkill" I call it "insurance".

If you just build 2 links and wait around chances are its not going to rank. Googles not going to say "oh look, this video has 1 more backlink than this guy so lets rank him!" Thats not how it works. Get a few hundred backlinks minimum. And its better if you drip feed the links. Because THATS when google notices your video is getting action and rewards you. For certain keywords I drip feed for 3 months straight till the video ranks.

So overdo it. Its called "parasite SEO" and its nothing like ranking sites (Yukon would disagree but he's wrong). Youtube is too authoritative for a subdomain to get penalized so don't be gentle. Be aggressive, wait 4 weeks and I guarantee you'll rank.

You still don't understand my position on ranking YT videos on Google SERPs.

All those views are fluff, has nothing to do with Google SERPs.

Pages rank, not videos. It's all basic SEO (links + on-page). I can easily prove that by ranking a self hosted page, then months later go back & add a self hosted video thumbnail image to the SERPs. ZERO views & still ranking.

YouTube marketing. This would be a paid for service no? I know that you can pay Google, YouTube, Bing, etc. advertising bucks to get a front page listing but that is sort of counterproductive to the point of SEO isn't it. If I can rank my video #1 then I don't have to pay anything which is a much better ROI on the time investment as it will stay there for some time.

        RS --

That all sounds like if would work great for ranking a video. Lots of attention. How long do you suppose that will work? I can only imagine that Google will start treating YouTube the same as it does regular sites at some point. Within YouTube search anyway.
