Hi

Been out of the seo side of things for a while,

Do open linkwheels still work for SEO if there is a unique article on each spoke?

Is 1.8% density still a good ratio for the keywords in the spoke articles ?

Thanks

Are you using Web 2.0 backlinks? Original content is non-negotiable. The problem is your backlink footprint must survive Penguin analysis. This is why most linkwheels are so 2007.... we're in 2014 now, bro

Would i be looking at web 2.0 properties, min 500 word article per spoke, original content per each spoke?

      Thanks

    Hi,

Yes if they are manually build putting in time and effort. Before, I used some software to build link wheels and after about 1-2 months the blogs, mini-sites where all deleted. Be careful because Google's recent changes has made the bots much smarter catching auto-link wheels.

Listen, if you want to succeed on the web there NO alternative to hard work overtime. I have tried everything and only started making progress once I didn't care about timing and put more passion and hard work into blogging. I am being totally honest.

If you want to rank for content then write original top notch content that people want to link to. It's that simple!

  • Yes, link wheels are still a very viable, effect SEO strategy if built the right way. That is, you need to make sure not to leave any "footprint" in Google when building them. Don't worry so much about density, just make the post sound natural and written for the reader, rather than for Google.

It's not the link wheel the stopped working. Its the way people used linkwheels that made it not work.

If you use spun content and any links to promote your site then your going to get hit by google.

On the other hand as you said if your content is unique and valuable and you are particular about the links you get then you will be okay.

One bad link can take from number 1 to the bottom of the barrel though.

Forget about keyword density. It's not important.

Yes, it still works but focus more on contextual backlinks.
