    Hi GoGetta,
After searching the whole forum this is the only place I can contact you

I saw your firesales on the special offer page but i can't reply there as I don have enough post.
May I know what are the differences between Rent-a-site, offline stealth tactic and local seo magic?
I thought they all similar talk about step by step local seo?
I'm interested since it's on firesales now

    Please PM me, thanks.
Perhaps with an even special price

Squidoo is a powerhouse. But you need to know how to use it.
I have been helping get squidoo lenses highly ranked. I help
make popular search topics for lenses. Then, funnel that
traffic. I even helped with a Lauren Conrad Hair lens.
Don't laugh. Lauren Conrad hair is one of the most searched
for terms. But truthfully, I only do lenses on popular
search terms. I am not really schooled on making a product
page. It seems to me the lenses that are from giant squids
and those that donate profits get a higher rank.

The reason Squidoo is still a great site to create pages on is because the domain name has a high authority, and a Page Rank 7. Any new lenses you create will automatically inherit this authority, and thus they "piggyback" off Squidoo's reputation.

It's important to understand however that there's nothing exclusive about Squidoo as opposed to any other high authority domain. If you create a new blogspot blog, it will have a huge advantage over a freshly created site, as it's inheriting the PR9 authority from blogspot.com. The same thing with an Ezine Article, a Goarticle, a Hubpage - any page created on a site will inherit the authority from the domain name itself. This is why you see articles from these sorts of domains ranking so well.

Just look at Wikipedia. A newly created page on that dominates the SERPs very quickly, even without any external or even internal backlinks, due to the authority the page automatically inherits from the domain itself. This is the exact same thing with a Squidoo lens, however it won't rank as well as a Wikipedia page since its base domain is a PR7, and doesn't have as much trust and authority as Wikipedia.

So to answer your question GoGetta, yes, Squidoo is still a powerful driving force for ranking, however so is any other site that you create a page on that has high authority. Once you understand this, you'll begin to see through the smoke and mirrors of "Squidoo is good because it's Squidoo" and see it instead as "Squidoo is good because its domain has high authority". You'll then be able to look at any domain and tell how easily you'll be able to rank a new page on it in the SERPs.

Some good points Steven. Last time I checked, hubpage links were no follow. Doesn't that mean links in Hubpage will have no authority?

For outgoing links that's absolutely correct, however in terms of the actual Hub Pages themselves, they will have just as much authority as if they weren't NoFollow. Wikipedia, for example, is all NoFollow, yet it still ranks its pages very well.

On HubPages, the links are only nofollow if your HubberScore goes below a certain level (75). Also, hubs with a HubScore less than 40 will also be nofollow. Produce a good, quality hub, and links will be dofollow.

Squidoo has a similar system - links are tagged no follow if they are considered to be 'Work in Progress'. As long as you have 3 modules, a lens will become 'Featured' and links will be dofollow.

Squidoo is beginning to annoy me.

Thing is when I see Squidoo lenses and they get the realted lens link on other people's lenses I sit back wondering how is it done.

I still haven't figured it out, which is beginning to turn me off Squidoo.

I just did my first squidoo lens so this post was very helpful. I like to master one thing then move on to the next. I will be spending some time working on more Squidoo lenses in the coming weeks.

Squidoo is still powerfull. Though the thing most people forget is you must PROMOTE the squidoo page just like your would do with any of your websites.

    - bookmark
    - article submission
    - etc etc etc

Intrepreneur, I think you can go into your intoduction and discovery tools and change this so that other lens won't be on your page. This disadvantage of this though is that then your lens will not show up on others pages either. Do you want that?

I use squidoo now while I am building a real site because its easy. I am new to all this (5 months old). When my site is up I will change all the links in my lens to direct to my site. My lens are simple and I have 6 so far and they are all linked together. I used pot pie girls one week marketing to get it up and going.

I love squidoo for one reason, it supports me and now I work at home in my pajamas every day. Yes it is powerful.

Thanks dude but my problem is that I can't get my lenses listed on other peoples which I'm beginning to find very strange because when I check other peoples they have hundreds of links from other lenses.

Not really. Here are my squidoo stats on our lauren conrad hair page for
        this week:
        Google 277
        Direct 25
        Referral 18
        AOL 4
        Yahoo 3

I have never promoted this lens one bit.
I am not sure what referral means on the above. I don't
refer anyone to it. I refer people to squidoo, so maybe that's
where they end up. From those stats one can tell google
loves squidoo. Granted, I have digg(ed) it and link to it from
other squidoo pages. Digg and squidoo are a powerful combo.
Twitter hasn't done shinola for me yet.

The Discovery Tool has been removed by Squidoo, so you won't see the links to related lenses any more. Any backlinks that appear on search engines between lenses will gradually disappear.

Instead, you will have to manually link to other lenses using the Lensroll function or Featured Lenses module, and hope they'll link back. This is of course much easier if you have half-a-dozen of your own lenses on the same topic.
