Flipping Websites! Does this affect SEO

Hey guys I`m intending to buy a website off flippa that I think has a lot of potential If I change a few things. But the things, that all its visitors come from google and I want to know if changing certain aspects will affect the SEO.

Changes I would make

- I would Change the THEME
- Change images and banner
- I would change the Adsense Ads around
- Promote a Clickbank Offer
- Play around with categories to make website more user friendly.

So ya I would do quite a bit of change but mostly it`s appearances more then anything. Does that affect SEO in any way if It don`t touch the content too much?

Changing a theme & internal nav. links can mess up a ranked position in the SERPs. What you do with Adsense doesn't matter for SEO.

  It could go either way but If your ranked page is dependent on any internal links that are removed it's most likely going to drop in the SERPs.

  Thanks for your help, but when you say internal links. Changing the theme will probably affect that in a big way no? or changing categories. I'm not planing to delete any content just categorize it better.
  And looking at the website I think google likes it because of all the post shares and facebook likes. which add up to like 50k+.
  but again im not a seo master, this is new to me.

If you keep the current content with the internal links than you should not get hit as hard.
