Google AdSense Frustration
- SEO |
Here is the situation. Many years ago I owned a small business with a website where we used to use AdSense on our site with no issue. About five years ago I sold the company and the corresponding website. The new owners decided to take the business in a new, more "adult" direction and while it is not a porn site, it has content on it that does not comply with the AdSense TOS.
Fast forward a few years, I want to start running an AdSense campaign on my blog and I install the code...no problem. A few months later I am notified by Google that my account is disabled (and all money owed me will, of course, not be paid to me) because of content on one of my sites that violates their terms of service. Little did I know that the old website, which I no longer own, is in the AdSense account. Even though it's not being used for AdSense, it's still in there as an offending website. But remember, I don't own the website anymore...haven't for years.
So I contact Google...both in their forums and on the phone and the tech and their supervisor (both in India) are completely clueless on how to solve this problem. Their solution was to have the new owners take down their entire website business so i can get AdSense up and running. Yeah, right. Of course, since they deactivated my account I'm unable to remove the offending website from within it which is something I suggested but their answer was basically, "Yes, but the rules state that when your account is suspended you are not allowed to make any changes to it."
I go around and around and around with these idiots at Google about this and they just answer me back completely confused as to what the problem is. After all, all I need to do is have the website, which I don't own, turned off. What's so difficult about that, right?
I've also tried to open a new AdSense account but it doesn't take long before they discover that it's me and shut the new one down because I have a different account in suspension. Does anyone know how to get around this insanity? It's like talking to complete morons when you have any dialog with Google on these sort of issues and they all have to stand by their "rules are rules" policy, no matter how stupid it is.
