Why Google does this with New websites?

Dear all, I want to ask why Google gives the more priority for new websites then old websites. I can give you example if you say. When I search keyword than other new websites are coming on first page which have not more then 10-20 back links but old websites which have 2k and 3k back links are coming down. please I have focused on quality links as well

I am really not getting this point. Can you please tell me? I have also seen those websites which have no content, I mean very low content but still coming on first page. I do not know why this is happening? please help

    I see this also, for example a 100 word product review which is horribly written, makes no sense at all and it's ranked high on the first page. Then I come along and write a 600-700 word review and get ranked 10 pages deep.. I would love to know why this is also.

    That is due to 'Caffeine', which is still part of their algo, if you are really building quality links then probably you should focus on updating the content of the website, may be a blog page would help.

    SEO is not about just building links now, probably you should treat it like a PPC campaign, in which tweaking never stops.

    I'll have to see an example because there's too many possibilities that could explain this. It's not that Google gives preference to newer sites. Quite the opposite in fact.

    Perhaps these older sites have:
    • Link loss
    • Weak links
    • 2001 anchor text
    • Links from penalized places
    • 100 other things

    I can say for sure, that Google definitely does not favor new sites. Which is why I never start a new site with a fresh domain. I'm trying to rank in 1 week, not three months.

    Well, I would say it must have something good. My idea behind saying this is we all know that Google loves the fresh content and the new sites are always came up with some new thoughts and ..... they have a much cleaner back link profile as they are new they don't have any spammy or.... suspicious links structure which makes them even more legitimate in the eyes of the search engine.

      I admit your words. You are absolutely right. Many SEOs do the work on one website. First came he did all spam work after that 2nd SEO did some work now I am doing my own.

        Well, that is just great doing your own work will make you sure that you have done the correct thing and you will have all the details of the work you have done and if anytime you feel that something somewhere is wrong you can check it easily while this is not that much possible with !! Keep going on... and of at any point you need help you can ask your question here in the WF.

    You've just seen a UFO. Don't feel strange, you're not alone and you're not going insane. Matter of fact I've seen a few myself. Sites that should be punished by one of G's animals but yet it rules over better looking sites. I've seen sites with keyword stuffed up the wazoo, few pages with few words, PR0 ranking above sites with tons of content, thousands of words and higher PR.

    Don't waste anymore time freaking out over it. Just go do what you gotta do to get to where you want to be.

    Bottom line is Big G's algo works in mysterious ways.

    There is a Google honeymoon syndrome with new domains whereby they temporarily place that new site on page 1 to split test the visitor metrics. That is how Google measures whether that site belongs on page 1 or not. Usually it's for a short time like a week. The other theory is that Google does this to provide new businesses with a "taste of page 1 traffic" motivating them to purchase PPC ads.
