So Matt Cutts said that article submissions, directory submissions, guest blogging and everything related to that is dead and should not be used as a technique to rank your website.
Having said that, Matt Cutts works for Google, which - ironically - isn't always the best source.
Now, based on your own experience and knowledge guys, is guest blogging really dead? Do article directories not provide any value whatsoever, and possibly even hinder your website's ranking?
I have a bunch of decent articles ready to submit to websites like Ezines, HowTos, HubPages, etc. as well as for guest posts, if anybody would have them (which isn't the case anymore, as I found out). I don't want to post them on the website as they don't fit well within what I'm trying to do here. How can I best use these articles to increase my rankings?
