Bing Ads Adgroup Bids

Hi,
Been trying out a Bing PPC course I got here from WF.
Just wondered if anyone here knows much about Adgroup bidding?
I thought its supposed to give you an automatic max bid for a keyword but doesnt seem to be working because I have had to manually raise my bid.
Anyone have much knowledge about the adgroup bidding on Bing?
