Character count of a perfect Description tag on Google?

I am trying to experiment with various Description tags of varied character counts like 145-150 or 150-160, still not sure which one will show my description tag completely in the search results. During the R&D I conducted, Google is showing a lot of variations after New Google Update. Please suggest....

    Anything in the region of 155 is usually considered "optimal" and I've been getting good results from that. My predecessor had all our descriptions in the 120-140 range; bumping them upto 155 with our USP's in there increased our CTR quite a lot.
