New Website Needing SEO Help
- SEO |
I originally posted a similar thread in Conversion Rate Optimization forum, but could do with some more help on the SEO/link building front.
I’ve recently started my first website – http://www.naildesignsforyou.com and I could do with some advice in regards to, well.. most things. What could I do to improve SEO and link building as I feel like I’m struggling quite a bit.
I'm currently getting about 15-20 visitors per day, and 500 or so in total this first month. I’m fairly certain that my lack of traffic, for the most part anyway, is because I’m not ranking anywhere on Google for practically any keywords (nail designs, easy nail designs, cute nail designs, nail design ideas etc.) I’m getting a handful of people finding me from search engines but really I’m struggling to move up or even onto Google at all (and I’ve checked that I’m indexed). I don't really know where my site stands in the way of SEO, I've done a lot of reading and tried to implement everything but I'm sure there areas are I've missed or can improve.
I also don’t feel like I’m very good at link building. I can’t seem to find any opportunities aside from commenting on blogs and submitting to directory listings (which I now believe to possibly be a flawed method, from what I’ve read).
So far I’ve made 0.99p from Adsense (3 clicks) and £6.50 from Amazon referrals in the first month, which seems fairly pathetic to me, but seeing as I’m still so new to this then maybe in the first month that’s not as terrible as it seems?
I’m not sure if I’d have more luck trying to promote something from ClickBank? Or sign up to something like MoreNiche which I’ve seen a few things about?
Another problem I suppose is that my website isn't up to much and the content not good enough. And I suppose my biggest problem might be that I’ve just chosen a pretty useless area to focus on, that isn’t going to pay very well and the competition is too high.
Really just any advice on what I should do next to improve SEO and link building and anything else that jumps out to you that I’m struggling/failing with would be hugely appreciated. I realise a lot of these questions have been answered loads of times before in other threads but some specific any advice for my current situation I would be extremely grateful for. As I said, I’m very new to all this!
Thanks!
On the whole, you get what you pay for.
Just got back from a #BrightonSEO. I was given room 404 in the hotel I stayed at. Couldnât find it anywhere!
