Can google read the links on images? or it can drive traffic to your websites?

Assuming you are meaning an image that is a link, then yes, Google sees those types of links.

Google spider can't read the images, javascript, jquery. But Google crawler or spider reader read the alt tag of images. So should be use for alt tag for all images.

So image link is not ok? better to focus on alt tag instead..

Image links are just fine. You should also make sure you specify an 'alt' attribute.

eg:
Code:

<a href="http://example.com/link.html"><img src="myimage.jpg" alt="My image description"></a>

Yes. All links are always visible to Google. So if you are going to put link to your image, it is better to properly apply SEO on it (Just like Peter mentioned above)
