Looking for Long Tail Platinum Help

I don't understand what the Top 10 URLs are supposed to be when I click on a keyword. I have put that same keyword into Google and received very different search results that are more local. For example, "self-defense schools" brings up 10 results on Long Tail Pro; when I put "self-defense schools" in on Google, only three of those Top 10 Long Tail results are on Google's first page.

Would somebody explain to me what these Top 10 URLs that Long Tail generates are the Top 10 for?

I would check with Long Tail Pro. I am not familiar with it at all. Typically tools like this draw their results from APIs that pull results from one or more of the search engines. So, for example, if Long Tail draws it's results from Bing, or a combination of several search engines, the results are going to be different from a search you would do at Google. So see if Long Tail explains how they draw their results.

Not only do results vary by search engine (because, among other things, their algorithms are different) but the results will also vary depending upon when the search is done and what parameters the engine sets for pulling results.

The bottom line, at least for me, is use the search engine results from several different tools so that you get more of a "tempered" view. If the same results keep popping up across many different tools, you will know that there is not a strong bias in any tool for that keyword or phrase.

    Good luck to you,

    Steve
