Will My Keyword Research Tip Google Off?

I am learning about keyword research and have gotten into the domain of the various keyword research tools.

It would seem that Google would notice software driven research from my ip address, especially thousands of searches in various forms, even with 'human' emulation going on.

Should I be using a proxy or system of proxies? Shouldn't I be doing this anyway? What's the best free strategy for doing this?

Additionally, doesn't having many sites on one server (or in the case of google sites, from the same ip address) tip Google off and lower page ranks? Or, forbid, send me to the sandbox?

Do tools like Micro Niche Finder work from my ip address and become more noticable? Even if a server is doing it online, couldn't Google correllate the keywords with the immediately thereafter appearing keyword driven sites?

Thanks!

Overuse of automated tools scraping data for you will get noticed. Usually the system will block your access and warn you that the behavior from your PC looks like an automated tool.

Google hates automated tools indeed. If you have any proxies try to use those. As Steven said the worst scenario is they will block the access from your IP.
