Black Hat or Grey Hat?

Hi guys,
I'm pretty new to internet marketing, and like everyone else, trying to find a method that works to get to the magic monthly passive income figure.
I'm aware that almost all the SEO services on here are black hat or grey hat. What I wanted to know was, what do you guys do for SEO to rank your websites. Do you take a long term approach, build a site with decent content, quality backlinks etc and let it run or do you go for multiple sites within the same niche, go aggressive with the SEO, maybe last a few months and then rinse and repeat on a new domain?
Also, if you were paying someone to use GSA SER or other software to boost your backlinks and rankings, who would you use? Who provides the most value for money?

There is no Great hat or white hat, or whatever hat.

What you should concerned about is what works in Google and how you can implement the same strategy in your own website and see some great results.

From your question, i can assume you are still a newbie in seo, so i will suggest you get some Good seo posts and one of the best out there is alex becker blog or you can attend my upcoming webinar {link in signature} and once you learn what you need to learn just take actions immediately

You mentioned long term so GSA etc is not going to work for you. to the extent that GSA does still work perhaps for some weak serps its not a long term strategy since the next Penguin update or two will probably wipe out your work.

Those kinds of links are just not for the long term success of a website

Thanks guys, so GSA as a long term strategy is definitely out of the option. Maybe I'm wrong, but it's really hard to 'value' a decent SEO service. Someone could charge $1000 a month and might be doing nothing, whereas you could spend $100 a month and you get good value. I guess that's why there is so many scammers about looking to make a quick buck. There a couple on this forum who look decent, I guess I'll have to try and see what happens

Don't go buying into any software or service just yet.

Maybe try a little education and guidance first. Mike A who posted above has a signature link that might be useful.

Yukons alright too when shes not having her monthlys.

Most people burn themselves a dozen times before they learn what a good link really is, and how to get some.

      Save yourself some time.

I always have several projects on the go and like to split test white/grey/black methods. This has a two fold advantage.... it is easier to find the sweet spot and also you are not putting all your eggs in to one basket. Testing is key.
