Well even the top fiverr gigs got my youtube video banned lol. I am curious to all you guru's did you do everything yourself when starting out? I am on a small budget but I can if need be purchase a program like gsa ser to help build links for my youtube videos. I can also find away to manually rank my own videos to keep them from getting deleted. I just figured since I am learning it might end up costing me more and more money to pay people for seo and boost when I can spend a couple hours on each program and maybe read a book and do this myself? Is using programs like gsa ser, and learning what to do with seo really that much of a pain?

Anyone with any experience with these programs or doing things manually when first starting out please give me advice.. Thank you

Personally, I keep up with SEO because I think it is a great skill to have. The thing about SEO is you will never stop learning it because it is constantly changing, so if you are going to take the dive and learn SEO be ready to constantly be learning new things.

It will also be cheaper in the long run I take it to scale my videos, web site etc. I guess you could also use your ability for gigs as well uhmm. Thank you I think you just helped me make the choice

ALWAYS learn about the things that directly impact your business.

SEO is a hugely popular topic online and there are dozens of authority sites that will always give you the latest/greatest updates/tips when they happen.

I vote to learn. It's quite easy to do so.

Don't buy SEO services from Fiverr. As you've found out they do more harm than good.

Learning how to do SEO properly takes a lot of time.

If I was you I'd learn the basics on good on page SEO and focus on creating high quality content that's worth linking to.

Then focus on networking like crazy with others in your niche and always being where your target audience is online getting your content in front of them.

The natural links and social shares you receive will drive your traffic.

You should at least learn a bit. You can very easily do a few of those tasks yourself very quickly instead of outsourcing all of it.

I personally have to disagree with most of the above replies about doing SEO. People make it out to be much harder than it really is.

No longer are the days where you need to have the perfect meta keywords, meta description, title, keyword density, backlinks, etc, etc, etc.

What it's really all about is having VALUABLE content that people want to actually read. I have a theory that Google is ranking content based on social factors (views, facebook likes & shares, etc) more than the optimization itself.

Of course you want an XHTML validated site with a proper title, meta description, and a well written article that includes the keywords you want to rank for... but at the end of the day what's most important is an article that people actually READ.

Now I know your whole post is about Youtube Videos and getting them ranked, and in my opinion Youtube is no different.

Google ranks content (video or article) based on what type of interaction it's getting, how many sites have embedded it, and are the sites that embedded it relevant? Again, all based on social interaction.

If you're trying to get a youtube video ranked. Try registering on forums related to your youtube video and put the video as a link in your signature. Create a video that is helpful and it will get embedded and shared. This will result in your videos ranking higher in both Google Search and Youtube Search.

Also make sure you're tagging your youtube videos properly and make sure to include a thorough description of what the video is about.

Sorry for the rant, hope this information helps.

Much of what you read about SEO is crap, and incomplete at best, and downright wrong at worst. Linking needs to be done without a lot of keywords, by using brand and variations of your URL type link. Not sure about YouTube though as I have not ever tried to rank one. But based on what I have learned from one of the masters of SEO, I would think web 2.0 stuff with your YouTube URL in them would be good. Maybe your YouTube channel as the keyword as that would be your brand I would assume.

Don't bet the farm on my post here, I only know a small bit of the SEO game. Always verify when you are getting SEO advice.
