Quality Guidelines Violation... could it be because of this?

I was recently hit with an email saying I violate "quality guidelines".

I have a site with a WP blog on it, I've written over 1,000 blog posts since 2006 on it. I try to do each blog post as original as possible, and they all go through copyscape without a problem, BUT, after this long writing blog posts, there are MANY that sound similar.. there's only so much I can write about on the product I'm selling.

Google sent me an email saying I violate quality guidelines. I believe this could be for any number of things. 1) crappy affiliate page to a related product where I don't add value (going to delete that). 2) Extra links at footer of site, which site design company did, and I never bothered to clean up (deleted already), 3) bad back links (which SEO company is cleaning up).

I see under google's webmaster guidelines page, there is a "content guidelines" section, and then lower is the "quality guidelines" section... if they had a problem with the blog posts being too similar, do you think they would have hit me with a "Content Guidelines" violation instead of a "Quality Guidelines" violation?
