Hi

I have a Google map listing and if I do a business search for it, by business name the site shows with map listing and I click onto it and it shows on the map. The business is a carpet cleaners based in Blackpool.

So if I then proceed to search for Carpet Cleaners Blackpool it fails to show. Even if I click the blue link on page 1 of serp that says "Map results for carpet cleaners Blackpool."

I have the site listed on page 1 in the organics below the map listing results.

I am really struggling with getting local businesses ranked on page 1 of maps. I have fully completed the map listing. Add images, full description and contact information. Verified them and added a profile image for the page too.

I have placed the keyword one time in the business description. I have cracked ranking sites on page 1 organically so this is the final piece to the puzzle for me.

Would love some feedback / advice

Any help much appreciated in advance

If you are referring to Google places ranking within the 7 boxes then you need to build citations. If you drop me a PM (hopefully it notifies me in email) I will give you a list that I used for a Driving Instructors business in Newcastle. Worked a treat although did take a good while.

Azzams is on point. Sounds like you need some citations. Check seoclerk or fiverr or whatever service may have people local to you. (you will need people with a legit UK ip) to help out.

Like the others mentioned, citations. Citations and continuing do work on your organic placement will go a long way to helping. If your listing is still fairly new, that could very well be your problem. Like a domain, a listing needs time to age and earn Google's trust. Even more so if the business itself is new.

Best thing you can do for yourself right now is pickup a Whitespark account and get building. If you don't have the time, pay someone who does.
