Moving A Blog As A Subdomain To A Different Server

We presently have our blog as a subdomain on our Yahoo! Store.
It's been recommended that we move the blog to another host. We've been having server issues where Google Bot is having difficulty crawling the pages, as well as data error issues.
We want to know what SEO ramifications would be good or bad by us doing so.
