Web 2.0's V/S Guest Posts

First you need to define what you mean by "web 2.0". It's an old and very vague marketing term referring to sites that get updated by users. It's a useless definition in 2014.

Maybe you're talking about blogs such as WordPress.com and Blogger. A new site on these services gets no backlinks from the actual frontpage of the service and thus has no link juice.

Many social media sites on the other hand don't link to actual user profiles or pages from any page that a search engine can see. Google says they're not using social signals, and I see no reason to believe in that urban legend.

Guest posts are probably a PR0 page for a long time. They're going to drop from the site navigation and into obscurity. If it's a permanent page on the site navigation the situation is much different.

So these methods have their unique shortcomings when it comes to link juice.

It really depends but I will still go with guest posting especially if the blog that you are posting on is active and consistent with their content. If that blog is dying, you're going to get an okay link but it's going to die down eventually. But if you get the backlink from a reputable blog then it's a major link juice heading your site. Web 2.0s are good but almost never as good as a decent guest post link.

I would recommend starting a thread and putting all of your questions there instead of starting 10 different threads. People will probably be less compelled to answer you if you spam the forum.

Also use the search functions many of your questions have already been answered.

I think the search is broken again. Seems to return a set of results, but not the latest. But yes indeed, you should always search for recent threads.

I have only started i think 3 or 4 threads. Why would i spam? did you see any reason that i am spamming the forum except that i started 4 threads and with genuine questions i had in mind? i did not find any satisfied answers which are current.

I did not email you to answer on my thread, so stay away!

    Hi
Web 2.0 sites are like article posting sites in which you can only create the company website and you can post the article, and market it. Guest posts are like the sites which are developed from others and we need to take the permission from the admin to post the article.

Web 2.0 sites are also developed by someone else (by definition), and you usually need to accept a TOS to post anything. While it's implied that you do have a permission you need to play by the developer's rules.

The definition in that post doesn't really help in any way.

Are you asking something about Web 2.0s / guest posts or spreading knowledge? It is confusing . Guest posts do work, Web 2.0s do work and social signals also work. Don't believe what Matt says. They will never leave even a clue how their search engine ranks pages. I have a blog post, a helpful how-to guide, which ranks at #1 in Google. It doesn't have much dofollow backlinks but has been shared around 10K times on social networks. The competition for the keyword is medium so you can't say that it has ranked due to very low competition or something else. Web 2.0s also work when they are treated as regular sites / blogs. You can't expect good results by just creating 10 Web 2.0 properties and by posting your link there. They also need to get exposure in eyes of SEs. Guest posts are also a strong approach when they are thematic .

Homeopathic SEO: ignore the guy who knows something, pay no attention to the fact that the explanation for your method is fantastically complex, and don't look for any solid evidence. Lets shake some water!

It's not really the power of "social signals" or "web 2.0" if you're building links to whatever page your backlink is sitting on.
