301 redirect second site to primary site

I have a site that dropped in ranking in May 2013 due to Penguin I believe. It was spammy backlinks that were created by seo companies I outsourced to. I didn't get a penalty notice or anything, but from 1 st page it is now 6th for the main keyword.

I have run a disavow. The content is very good and unique. Optimised.

I have a second site with approx 80 pages of unique, good content that is positioned quite well and doens't have lots of spammy backlinks.

Both sites offer the same service and the keywords and content are similar in subject matter (not duplicated). In fact the keyword structure would be the same.

My question is, do you think moving all the content to the 1st site and setting up 301 redirects would help the seo?

    Hi,

    If you are not managing both site then you will do, otherwise there is no need to redirect all the content on the first one.
    As you said that your first domain having unique content and no toxic link are there, so you can continue with this domain. And separately going with second domain (if second domain having any toxic links then you should remove them, by any tool you can easily will do)

    Depends what type of site.

    I 301 redirect domains to my money sites all the time. I then build PBN links to the 301 redirected site.

    Guess what? It works great. But it's also blackhat, and I run the risk of having them deindexed at any time. But who cares? I bank $500 - $1,000 per month from each site, and it's hella easy.

    Now, if you're a running a real business; don't bother. Go legit.

      301 isn't blackhat, and technically any linkbuilding is against Googles tos, and blackhat.
