You don't need a course on video SEO. There is enough free information on the internet to get you started. One important thing you should know is no one is going to reveal their secret methods and winning strategies for a few bucks.

I agree. Lots of good info on BHW. Sadly the process for ranking YT videos is fluctuating a lot, so any course you buy could be outdated by the time you get your hands on it. As usual, analyzing what's working in your niche is prob. the best option.

You definitely don't need a course and the few course I've bought were terrible.

I don't know much about Claude but I can't imagine that he promotes the more popular and effective blackhat video techniques (GSA spam, retention views, etc).

I have over 400 videos ranking on page 1 of Google all with GSA spam.

I'll give you a very quick idea of how I do it.

For geo targeted local terms -

All I do is blast with GSA. No retention views, no likes because I have 0 competitors for 90% of these terms. I have GSA on a server, great verified lists, great indexing platforms, and I just blast with links till the videos rank.

For more competitive Clickbank type keywords -

I use a custom made keyword bot that I paid a developer to build.

It's very similar to "SEO Cockpit" from swiss made marketing except it uses a seed list of 84,000 of the best HAND PICKED Clickbank keywords. That's right. It took me about 18 months just to create the list.

The app basically scrapes through hundreds of thousands of Clickbank related keywords, then filtered out all the keywords that ALREADY have videos in the top 5.

For more competitive keywords I will NOT target any keyword unless Google is already displaying a video for that keyword. So the bot can go through a list of 1,000,000 CB related keywords, then filter out all the keywords that have videos in the top 5.

Then it pulls out views, likes, tags, titles, backlinks and search estimates (autologs into Googles Keyword Planner).

So it can quickly reduce a huge list of shitty keywords into the top 300 lowest competition, highest searched, buyer keywords. It doesn't deliver botty results either cause it's seed list was not create by a bot but a human.

Then I make a HQ video, optimize, drip feed retention views, likes, get comments for social proof and set up anywhere between 1-5 tiered campaigns depending on competition.

Since I have GSA on a server I can churn out over 1 million links / day (keep in mind I have like 114 campaigns running right now).

That's a quick explanation of what I do.

My system works so well these days I'm now working with a guy who does the retention views on his own. So noone else has access to the specific view script he is using (he paid a lot of money for it). That way my videos don't get banned. He handles all the views, I do the videos, then we both blast with GSA. Since partnering up directly with a view supplier I've been able to rank in some absurdly competitive niches.

So GSA spam still works. Everything that use to work in the past still works.

It's just how you execute that has changed. Like I don't "blast" videos anymore with views. We start them off slow, steadily raise the pace, then taper the views off so the view stats look 100% natural.

You don't need to do this but it helps lower my ban rate.

    That's basically it.

      Hey RedShifted,

I used your advice you gave in one of my threads sometime ago and while everything else was spot-on, i have found out on consistent basis that views don't do anything to rank videos. Doesn't matter if they are high retention. If you mean for youtube itself then views help but not for Google.

GSA works like a damn charm though, just damn amazing. I have ranked tons of videos with it by now.

The reason views don't matter in Google SERPs is Google will rank a self hosted video page while Google doesn't have a clue how many views the self hosted video has.

Videos attach to pages, it's basic SEO for ranking a webpage.

I can add/remove a self hosted video thumbnail image from a ranked page, the page holds the exact same Google SERP position regardless.

Hmmmmm.....interesting point of view. That implies that the amount of time a video is watched is not helpful and is not a relevance for Google. But I can't help to question that because it would seem that viewer retention rate would seem to be equivalent to bounce rate for a regular web-page.

Does any of that make sense?

Just because a page loads & the clock starts ticking (bounce rate) doesn't mean anyone is watching a video on a self hosted page/site. So there's no way Google is tracking self hosted video views. They can guesstimate but that's all it would be is a guess, still, I haven't seen any sign of tracking the actual video/views.

Like I said earlier, a video can be added or removed from a page at anytime & the page still holds the same SERP rank.

Would you recommend using fiverr gigs for video submission?
I recently ordered a fiverr gig promising to post my video on 50 websites (hasn't been delivered yet), but my concern is posting all the videos of once. Would that look unnatural in the eyes of Google if it were to happen, what do you guys think?

Google now can detect even High Retention views! so be careful! your youtube account might get banned! the best way is to build backlinks to it using GSA and get a lot of +1's to it also this will help your video to rank quickly!

Yukon why can't you just admit that you hate youtube? Seriously. You refer to retention views as "crap" then go on speaking completely out of context of what I originally wrote. I was very obviously speaking in the context of youtube, not a self hosted video.

And to call retention view's "crap" is like saying "the porn industry is crap" or "xxx multi-million dollar industry is crap".

Why do you think people spend millions on fake followers, likes and retention views? Because these people aren't making millions in return? lol. Obviously not. People use them because they're profitable.

Also, with a self hosted video you're not guaranteed to get a thumbnail. With youtube, you are... as long as you don't have words like "sex, masturbation, boner, etc" in your title.

Then there is the fact that it takes 20-30 minutes max to set up a GSA campaign for a YT video. If you're trying to rank a competitive self hosted video / page expect to put a lot of time or money into it.

We've been going back & forth on this issue for over a year now.

I really think it's time you just pick a keyword, we reveal it to the forum, then compete to rank.

You use a self hosted page on your site. I'll use youtube. Then at the end we'll tell everyone how we ranked, how much time it took, how much money, and we'll also track conversions.

Let's show the forum which is really easier and more economical.

I know I can outrank you quicker, cheaper, and get just as good if not better conversions with youtube. Cause I'll have a fat old provocative thumbnail embedded at #1 and you..... you're gonna have to secure your content, embed a crawlable player, surround the video with supporting content, submit a video xml sitemap, add schema markup, slowly drip feed links..... and EVEN THEN you're not guaranteed to get that thumbnail.

I haven't went the "self-hosted" video route yet, so I can't say if it works or not. BUT, I have to side with Red on this one. It's quicker, easier, and you can blast your way to the top (GSA is your friend ). Plus, you don't have to worry about destroying your site. Of course, the more we talk about it here, the less likely it is to work in the future.

I also haven't seen many self-hosted videos outranking YT videos for the same keyword either and of the few times I have, it's been coming from a real authority website (mainly like a news website).....something you likely aren't going to achieve with a website very quickly unless you embed this video on a already established domain.

As a final consideration, take a look at the attached thumbnail. Notice my kw phrase is Video SEO for Wordpress. At the top, you'll notice Yoast's plugin - which used to have a thumbnail to his self hosted video. Yet, down at the bottom of the page, we see a product review (same keyword phrase) that shows a thumbnail......hosted on YouTube.

Does this really prove anything? Maybe not. But Goober has recently rid the search results of the G+ Authorship thumbnail. My guess is they are going to make it more difficult by not allowing any sort of thumbnails unless that thumbnail is specific to one of their properties - because the thumbnail attracts eyeballs and clicks.....clicks away from adwords.

I think your right on the money! Redshift,

Any suggestions on how many links to send with GS A for a local video? Do you send x amount then stop for a bit? Are the GSA links tiered? Any special Gs a settings like only pr-1 -pr7 & "Try to skip creating do follow links?
