Google Aint Got Nothin' On You!

Alright, I'm up late tonight eating gummy bears. Yummy! I just wanted to post something
that will hopefully ease the frustration of folks who are afraid of the Google sandbox, folks
who are overwhelmed with the competition and folks who simply don't know how to
approach the search engines.

Now listen up. I've been doing Internet marketing for nearly a decade now. I now currently
also own an ad network company, but I was always interested in SEO. So about 2
months or so ago, I decided to start my own SEO firm.

So anyway, I purchased a parked domain in March, TexasSEO.com, and then started building
on it in April. I work from home anyway; so, I have a lot of free time (^__^).

If you've been around SEO at all, you know that this domain is still considered a brand spanking
new website even if it's been around for years due to the lack of pages being indexed.

Okay, so I started with NOTHING. Zero!

And if you know anything about Texas, we're big on being big. You can bet that there's a
lot of competition in the SEO market. To make it even more difficult, I'm over here in the
heart of Texas: Dallas!

Well, guess what, here's where I'm at after about 2 months:

dallas marketing firm: #3 out of 29 mill
dallas marketing firms: #8 out of 15.2 mill
dallas seo: #9 out of 1 mill
seo dallas: #9 out of 2.1 mill
texas seo: #1, #2, #3 out of 1.3 mill
texas marketing: #10 out of 50 mill
texas search engine marketing: #6 out of 23.7 mill
dallas texas marketing: #2 out of 52 mill
seo marketing firm: #9 out of 29 mill
Not bad is it? And to think this was done in a matter of 2-3 months with minimal effort.
I've applied maybe *maybe* 20-30% of what I will be unleashing at the end of next
month. I'm outranking and catching up with companies who have been in business since
1995!

In 1995, I was in the 7th grade or something. I didn't even have a computer until
another 4 years later!

I'm not here to rave, although it's quite fun, I'm here to say that anyone can do
this!
Stop reading all the mumble-jumbo and finding out all the "secret" stuff. There
isn't any real secret. It's just a matter of *get'n 'er done*. I just got done watching a
video on "advanced SEO" by an expert... I was totally blown away by the basic crap he
was talking about.

"Avoid using frames."
"Try not to use images only."
"Don't have a flash only website."
"Make sure you have a page title, description and keyword meta tag."
"Make sure you use the <h1> tag."
"Make sure you wipe your butt after pooping."
Okay, he didn't say that last one, but it's basic stuff. I think. I hope.

If you've spent as long as a month trying to learn SEO, you probably know enough to get
going. It's just a matter of doing it.

I mean, what are the sources of marketing your website?

Let's see: social media sites, article directories, blog directories, blogging, pinging, video,
podcasting, press release, back linking, blah, blah, blah. You've heard it all! Stop reading
and just start doing!

Of course, if you don't have the time, patience or the expertise, fine hire my firm
or someone else that can get you ranked quickly. Just keep in mind the cost of
opportunity. You could spend months and years learning about SEO and marketing your
business or you can spend a little money now to make more down the road.

Important: Don't ever go for a marketing firm based on a fixed price. Every client is
different because their market is different, their product is different and their
approach/positioning and STORY is different.

Also, don't hire someone that will guarantee immediate results or #1 on any keyword. I
don't even guarantee immediate results. I just know if I can do it for myself and rank in my
own industry, I'm sure I can help someone else. I have a no back-stabbing agreement with
my best clients (it means I will not accept another client who is competing with you) and
guarantee a 80% refund within 90 days of getting started if results are unsatisfactory.

Anyway, I've got a copywriting client to work on. My goal is to generate $30k+/month for
this guy. Mainly because I'll get 30% of it the rest of my life, lol. Easy money!

Good find on that domain name. I just think that goes to show how important it is to include keywords in the domain.

Domain name is a marginal element in SEO, but it helps with the prospective buyer more than it does SEO.

I mean, if your domain was boots.com and you outrank shoes.com for "running shoes" it's pretty easy to understand that business will still go to shoes.com instead of boots.com. The whole purpose of a domain name is to connect to the prospect/client not SEO.

Even if I picked up a domain name like, thelovedoctor.com, I could still rank for these keywords, but how appropriate would my name be for the prospective audience? I probably wouldn't get much business, if at all.
