For images you can use both attributes: title & alt. Sometimes (like news, educational, etc websites), Google images is an important source of traffic...

In my opinion it depends in keywords and tags you're putting. To help you analyze your website pages for SEO you can download a plugin called "WordPress SEO by Yoast".

It is better for SEO to use the text-based title and description, image title logo does help a bit. However, I have recently started using google fonts to create better-looking headers, where before I used images.

Image title logo, combined with text, at least that is my personal opinion.
Eye catching logo, that says everything about your website.

Thanks. Awesome!! great feed back guys. I was using just regular text font for my logo with all my keywords. After a while I wanted a Logo/title with some real design in it so I got Photoshop cc 2014 and made a nice logo/title and changed what I had. The image has Title and Alt tags. I still use Text underneath the logo for my Header with keywords in it. Hope that doesn't effect the SEO of my home page.

The text under the header isn't necessary so you can remove it if you want to. Also, the purpose of a logo is to give your website an identity, some credibility, and visual appeal. A logo doesn't affect your rankings in any way so I would place it in the back burner except for the reasons I just mentioned.

Yeah I wanted a more visual appeal to my home page with the new logo image I made. I will remove the text underneath it now that I know I don't really need to include it. Thanks!

Build site for human and you will be fine.

I always prefer to use logo not because it's better for SEO but make my site looks more professional.

Anyway, none has any repercussion, your OnPage SEO is what matters at the end of the day.

Logos aren't going to affect your seo much if at all. Just go with something that helps people identify your brand. Gotta give my vote for image based with some text, seems like the best of both worlds.

This, 100%. You have way bigger things to worry about than text or image logos. Set it and move on.

    Hey SittinPerty

I don't think it matters which one you use.

As long as you make sure you take a look at your alt tags and set them to a keyword you want to be optimized for, you should be fine. In the past, I haven't noticed any problems in SERPs after using both.

    Hope this helps!

Think of this from your site visitor's point of view. What would they rather see, a logo or text title? There are many other ways to optimize a site, so think of what will make your site look best for the person viewing it. You can always use an alt tag and optimize the description and any other part of your page.

Logo defines what your brand is so make sure to have it for sure. Its an Identity that you have to maintain throughout everything you do. Though its not going to affect your SEO for any reason. But, will you go with something which just have a name but no Identity to recognize or vice versa? I guess NO. So go for both. One thing you can do is place an Alt text on the Logo. Suppose if you have a website xyz.com and have a logo then place an anchor text named with "xyz.com" only, don't write "xyz.com logo". As simple as that.
