"Now link juice is passed the normal way no matter whether you use a nofollow or not. You can see in the third diagram that the site distributes its link juice to all three sites equally, the difference is that the nofollowed link does not receive it."

This might be useful to webmasters who still believe that nofollow-ing their links will preserve the link juice of their site. I've never engaged in that practice though.

Well, now I would say that's really a good interpretation. There are webmaster who think that giving a nofollow like going to save their juice !

And, that's from an article which was posted a year ago. So much has changed since then with Google. For one thing, this article linked to, assumes that Google is still favoring backlinks for SEO, rather than good content. They imply that backlinks are the biggest factor in ranking, versus the actual authority of the site being linked to, such as it's actual relevance to the user and depth of information on site. Google has a team of manual reviewers to determine what is an authoritative site, so all this is done manually not by software.

There are a few trillion webpages on the internet. Google is not doing this manually. Lol...

The link juice flows to the next tier making it stronger and by the time you get to the tier touching your money site you'll have higher quality backlinks directly to your site (hopefully).
