How to "de" rank results?

When it comes to SEO, my "niche" as it were is to help clients with reputation management. It's quite an interesting field.

Recently, I've been faced with a problem where somebody is blasting my client in negative ways by using high ranking sites like YouTube or Pinterest, using their names as keywords and the video or pins would be totally random or negative in nature.

Has anybody had experience with this? Any recommendations?

Obviously, flagging has been done, etc. But there is only so much one can do from one IP address.

Thanks for any input!

This has been covered a dozen times already here on the SEO forum.

As always..., use free sites/pages (titles) to add fluff to the SERPs for your clients name. Let the SERPs settle down. If that doesn't work then start building a few strong backlinks to the free fluff pages to bump the negative pages down the SERPs.

Don't waste your time trying to flag stuff on YT, etc...

Thanks for the reply. I already do most of that.

Create your own videos and Pinterest pages and SEO them until they outrank the negative pages and push them to the second page. That's the only surefire way to lower the rankings of the urls generating negative publicity.

You'll want to focus on burying the negative results. Do a search on "reputation management" and you should see all the info you need.
