Hi guys ..

I have a doubt regarding back links from sub domains. I have a website with 7 subdomains. I am planning to add a link to one of my website(other) in these sub domains. Does Google count these links separately?

If all domains have same host ip, same owner and they link together. You gonna get trouble, google doesn't like that.

ROTFLMAO! That is just too funny. I cannot believe anyone can say that with a straight face,
let alone give it a like.

Get a grip people. It's called building an online empire.

So, amazon link rings to every site owned by amazon...and google knows that amazon owns
them, as they publicly crow about it. But because some have a different IP, google is okay
with that? Makes no friggin sense. I guess that means the ones that have the same IP get
      penalized. Sure.

If you have different C-class Ips on each domain and don`t interlink them it may works, but there are so many possibilities to acquire quality backlinks these days for free it`s waste of money and time in my opinion to invest into different hostings and IP`s. Private PBN`s are effective but very expensive as well

Google counts subdomains as different websites completely. A link from every subdomain will help, but I'm sure the links will be diluted as part of the algorithm.

I remember a few years back, I would create 200 subdomains on one domain and interlink them all together.. Worked very well.. And of course, it soon caught on and Google went after it. It's not hard to detect either, as it all leaves a footprint.

I would only drop a link now on all of the subdomains if it's a genuine link, such as, "Part of the XXX Group of companies".

Just got back from a #BrightonSEO. I was given room 404 in the hotel I stayed at. Couldn’t find it anywhere!

You are right! Try and make genuine links in sub-domains!

      Hi there

What if i am doing this in a classified site (with sub domains). Like i am just putting an advertisement in all sub domains and linking it to my website. does that also cause pblm?

use rel="nofollow", that's why it's there. advertisements should have nofollow attributed to it, else it becomes a paid link. That's if you're going for strictly whitehat. If you want to go grey hat / blackhat, then why are you here asking.

If those other domains have the same C-class then those backlinks won't do you any good BUT also these days they won't do you any harm - waste of time really..

Of course Google and the others realize that there are bound to be groups of websites operated by the same owners and they can well be related as in "yoursite..com" - "yoursiteblue.com" - "yoursitesupport.com" - Of course you can interlink between the sites - It's good business practice BUT there won't be too many benefits in the tradional backlinks SEO sense. That's regarded similarly to having a good linking structure within a single site.

Don't buy domains with a view to seo and backlinks though it's not cost effective.

          Good luck!

Search engines would count these links separately..as v see sometimes a particular search term would give you results pointing to a specific page on a particular site....

Yeah, you won't get penalized, but you won't get much link juice from them either.

If they are useful and relevant for your visitors i would put them, otherwise not.

If you get links from same IP address then these backlinks are not helpful for you. These backlinks shows bad effect on your site. Use Fox Location for finding IP addresses.

Blogspot backlinks is most powerful better than getting same host IPs links, if you get links from different domain but same IPs then it's will not affect for increase ranking (but you will see ranking decreases if you get links from same host IPs - it's will natural or unnatural). Otherwise Google doesn't like same hosted IP's backlinks. You can get backlinks from different IPs blogspot links if you tired to get backlinks for your site.
    For an example:
    HTML Code:
    http://myblog.blogspot.co.uk/mypost/
    http://myblog.blogspot.in/mypost/
    http://myblog.blogspot.com.au/mypost/

If the subdomains are related in topic to the main domain and without duplicated content, then you should be fine.

It would be best for you if you got some expired domains with a good linking profile, put them on separate hosts and then link back to your site.

You having so many domains and they all are on a same host ip and same name then the Google think that you are doing some spam work it gives you very bad ranking and they are considered as one name only most of them will be banned from the website in the same manner. Its better if you link each site to the hosting site then you can have a better option.

If other pages have good PR,you will loose nothing if you'll get backlinks from them too. It might be not as good as getting backlinks from other domains, but backlinks from same domain will still be helpful.

You are able to add your domains if other domains owner name change and ip and other things other wise Google will take any reaction against your site..
