Google SERP help - HELP ME please

I was on 60th place sometimes back, then I have done some backlinks, I was moved to 42nd place. After sometimes, again I dropped to 60th place, again I had done some backlinks, I had moved to 50th place. Again, It dropped to 55th place and now it is back on 40th place. Any ideas for the reasons for this, I am really confused, Please help me guys

    It's perfectly normal for your site's position to jump around. Annoying but normal. Keep building backlinks and the position will gradually improve and stabilize, assuming that you have good on-site SEO.

    I have a few sites that are on page 1 for a particular set of keywords and have been for several years, but their positions still vary a bit from day to day. It's just Google. We don't have to love it but we do have to live with it.

    Backlinking does help but you also need to look for your on-page optimization.

    I have a 5 years old site which was ranked number 10 out of 2,140,000 for a particular keyword, I didn't do any backlinking but instead I re-structured the site using 'silo' technique and now I am at 5th position.

    Not only the homepage but also the inner pages are coming in good SERPs after this change.

    THis is normell in SEO, I thing ur site is new and also this is not good sympol.. the fluctation should be from first page to 5 .. then at last u will get in first page... my site is dancing from 15+ to 50.. but at last i got arounf 20 .. still soem dancing but alsomost time near to it

    This is pretty normal for a young site (around a year or so old). Sites improve their rankings if continuous link building is employed. This means going after your most targeted keyword. You can employ the "long tail keyword" strategy if your major keyword is highly competitive.

    If you ant to be the top in serf you need to have a good content or write a content then backlinks. The more quality back links pointing to your website or Blog, the higher in the SERP's you will get.

    You should target that keyword full time and do backlinkings to get it on the top and then you can enjoy the real SERP for your keyword.
    This must be some competitors trying to get on top so your position is getting up and down according to competitors backlinks so try to get the top position
