Is it possible to get Weebly websites ranked in Google

I have several sites built in Weebly. Is it possible to get Weebly websites ranked and are there any known penalties for having a Weebly website according to the search engines ?

Any advice would be great

    As you may know that promoting a third party domain is tough than your main TLD's. Its something like promoting weebly not your website.

    I would prefer to have your own domain name instead of any other 3rd party.

      These are Weebly sites with my own domain name. They are just designed using the Weebly platform

    So all the usual methods apply and there is no disadvantage to having a Weebly site as compared to building the site in Wordpress.

      I don't know if this will answer your question, but...

      Several years ago I wrote some articles I posted on Weebly for a business that I closed over two years ago. The website for that business is long gone.

      But after seeing your post, out of curiosity, I googled "weebly computer consulting". My old articles come up in the #1 and #2 position.

    Any website would work better if the user's performance is good enough in the site. The more popularity a web page gains the more effective would be the traffic, and ranking as well.

    It's very possible. In fact, if you were to rank for a low competition keyword, weebly rank high quicker than a TLD.

    Either way, you're risking your whole business on a third party. If they dislike your content, they can remove it.

    I would heavily suggest using Wordpress and learn yourself to begin editing basic HTML/CSS/PHP to customize theme how you want them to. When you start the development process, you'll learn a lot from both web development & SEO.

    For example, I used a review-style magazine theme recently on a new Amazon site. All outbound links weren't labelled as nofollow. It's handy for me to be able to quickly dive into the theme files and add the nofollow code to external links.

      Do they not have an option to export or edit the source html and css files? I have an e-commerce store myself with Big Commerce and I can do both.
