Subdomain or Section for clients?

Assuming that my website has 100 hits per week and I setup an admin panel which would have 100 visits per month by my clients, which would be more beneficial for me to setup:

1) A new section: domain.com/client
2) A Subdomain: client.domain.com

I'm sure that having 200 hits in a certain place with a high CTR would help my website.
Alternatively, am I wrong? I await the standard WF flaming along with some great answers.

It comes down to which ever is easier for you to maintain.

Google would treat each client.domain.com as a seperate website. You can track them separately in Google Webmaster tools.

Personally, Since each client is unrelated, I would use sub domains to keep them separate.

Thanks John, a great answer. The panel and main website offer website design, in that scenario. Would diverting these visits to a /client page have any benefit?

If the client is logging in why build anything else, your already tracking the logged in visit?
