quickest way to learn how to get a webpage to rank

i'm looking to start an ecommerce website but i don't want to be spending all the money for payment processor, merchant accounts, payment gateways, etc since I don't know how to get a page to rank as of yet.

my question is: what test methods are there to get a website to rank and move up in the serps?

    Hasn't changed for a long time.

    High quality links - website should be able to stand at the feet of kings (ie: average links from average sites its okay, but you should aim to be high quality )

    High quality content – you need to be worth a damn, You can't have good ranks with crap content, it doesn't work like that ( not just words on paper, has to have value, real value)

    Sounds rather simple but its literally all it takes.

      Good post... You forgot to say UNIQUE content.. Which is important and that the links should be from Related websites (for max results!) and also to have High Authority if possible!

    much appreciated for your response. to elaborate on your simplicity method, could you expand on the process i would take to get a test/mock page or website to rank?

    is making a mock page/site a waste of time? if yes, what's a more efficient way to set up my ecommerce site?

    No doubt, having various payment processors will be a big plus for your business but if you are concerned with too much charges at these time then stick with just PayPal and a Bank account.

    Fact is, ranking your site on the SERP depends on lots of things and would most likely take some time except if it's a very low competition.

    You can use PayPal as a payment processor.

    To increase ranking in SERP's, you will need to do search engine optimization and marketing for your website, and it is not as easy as it might look or sound in most cases.

    ranking a site isnt easy. It takes a lot of effort, planning and patience. So i would suggest that before you invest money you should be confident that you will be able to rank a site.
