I have been running my site "www.tyms.in" for the past seven years and it has worked very well for me as my business was located in India.
Recently however i have shifted to the Kansas and therefore after reading several SEO forums that a ".in" domain will be difficult to market in the US I decided to set up a US based site "www.schoolofthaimassage.com" with the server in the US.
I had a conversation with a SEO "Expert" who told me that this was not right as the logo and some of the content (course details) are the same as the India site.

I need some advice on this matter.
1. Was it the right decision to set up a .com site or a .in site would have worked in the US too.
2. Some of the content between both the sites is the same e.g. the course we offer in India and US are the same. Is that a problem?

Why where you reading SEO forums to learn about Marketing? Do you do your laundry at the Pharmacists?

You need to have a .com domain. Ensure that you have unique content on both the sites.

Yes, that will be a problem.

It is best to write unique content for the new US site.
