Yup I decided to hold off on it for awhile myself but I have read good things on other forums.

WTF .. are you serious? Wow I used to be on Yahoo dir on one of my sites a few years ago for about 2 years. dint really know if it was helping me. Some people said it was not that big of a deal and I quit. I didn't realize it was "IF" they accept you..

    Ok,
So you do not get charged for it if it is rejected..

The Yahoo Directory Submit service costs US$299 for each Directory listing that is submitted and approved. If for whatever reason your site is not approved, the $299 fee will be refunded. For each listing accepted into the Directory, there is a recurring annual fee of US$299 to maintain the listing for each year thereafter.

So I wonder it is worth the $299 for a local business...

I can say in all honesty I have used the Yahoo yellow pages for many years but that's just my choice because I am used to it. I am sure that ties into being submitted to Yahoo directories somehow but not sure how closely related the YP and Yahoo search are.

Search Engine Land had an article blurb about some changes with it today. You might want to look into it..
