Use alt tag on your image(s). The alt text would be considered as your anchor text.

If you build a link using image, you should use alt text for your image. This alt text is the anchor text.

When you building a link to a post or page, use a right keyword as the alt text.

Its not much needed if you specify the alter text.

As suggested by others, you should use the alt tag with images to target for the desired keywords, not only for your signature image, but also for your websites images.

I suggest you check with Google webmaster tools first for any of your pictures that need alt text and then you change them. It's also recommended to change the title and give description to each of your picture so they can describe themselves clearly to the search engine spiders.
